GloRilla speaks out after she was arrested Tuesday for felony drug possession. According to TMZ, the rapper was arrested on Tuesday in Forsyth County for possession of a “scheduled controlled substance and possession of marijuana over one ounce,” which are felony offenses under Georgia law. She was reportedly taken into custody and released later that day after posting a $22,000 bond. Following the arrest, GloRilla’s attorney shared a statement with TMZ. “The arrest of Gloria Woods is a disturbing window into how warped law enforcement priorities have become.” The statement continued, “Ms. Woods was out of town when her residence became a target for a group of home invaders who most likely knew she wasn’t there. What they didn’t know was that she had family staying with her that were traumatized by the violent entrance of this group who grabbed high-value jewelry before taking off once they realized the home wasn’t vacant.” GloRilla also addressed the situation. “CRAZY.. Cardi B is being sued by a woman who was struck by a microphone at one of her concerts in Las Vegas. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, an anonymous Ohio woman filed a lawsuit in District Court Cardi B and Drai’s Management Group LLC, the operator of the club where the alleged incident occurred. The suit complaint claims, “battery, assault and negligence.” At the time of the incident, local police investigated the allegations but later decided not to press charges.  “What has been written off as a joke by many people is actually a traumatic experience that has significantly impacted my well-being and quality of life,” the plaintiff said in a statement on Wednesday. “I am seeking justice in the hopes of holding Cardi B accountable for her misdeeds, as no celebrity is above the law.” Cardi B throws microphone at audience member who threw a drink at her. pic.twitter.com/alLgHMFshb — Pop Base (@PopBase) July 30, 2023 The incident tool place in July 2023 as Cardi B performed at Drai’s Beachclub at the Cromwell. The mic also struck a fan standing next to the person who threw the drink at Cardi B. Eventually, the microphone was auctioned off for $99,000, the complaint read. The lawsuit also says  that Cardi B also threw a microphone at a DJ on the night before the incident. “Drai’s, as the operator of the venue, had a duty to supervise the performance and ensure the safety of its patrons, including Plaintiff,” the complaint said.

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, are suing right-wing political pundit Candace Owens, who said that the First Lady of France is a man, the New York Times reports. Filed in Delaware Superior Court on Wednesday, the suit accuses Owens of making false claims to “promote her independent platform, gain notoriety and make money.” In March 2024, Owens “told the world” she would stake her “entire professional reputation” that Ms. Macron is, in fact, a man.” She made the claim on her podcast the claim on her podcast abd in a post on X. In a lawsuit totaling 200 pages, the Macrons are suing for “22 counts of defamation and related claims, and are seeking actual and punitive damages (the amount was not specified), as well as legal costs.” Ms. Owens “disregarded all credible evidence disproving her claim,” the filing says, and “rather than engage with President and Mrs. Macron’s attempts to set the record straight, Owens mocked them and used them as additional fodder for her frenzied fan base.” “Because Ms. Owens systematically reaffirmed these falsehoods in response to each of our attorneys’ repeated requests for a retraction, we ultimately concluded that referring the matter to a court of law was the only remaining avenue for remedy,” the Macrons’ statement read. Mitchell Jackson, a rep for Owens,  said his client has not been served and heard about the suit through the news media. “Candace Owens is not shutting up,” Mr. Jackson said. “This is a foreign government attacking the First Amendment rights of an American independent journalist.”  In addition to Owen’s, her media company and the company that runs her website are named in the suit.

The Power Universe is expanding with a new Power: Origins prequel being green lit by Starz. The new show is the fifth installment of the ongoing series. According to Deadline,  the new series chronicles the lives of Ghost and Tommy as “ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise, determined to make their mark on the streets of New York City.” The premiere season will be 18 episodes long starring MeKai Curtis, star of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, as Kanan Stark.  Sascha Penn, showrunner, writer and executive producer, expressed her excitement about the new series in a statement. Tory Lanez’s legal battle continues to draw national attention, with prominent figures now stepping in to advocate for his release. The Canadian artist, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence following his 2023 conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. Despite the verdict, many supporters believe he deserves clemency, including former New Jersey Assemblyman Jamel Holley and White House appointee Jack Brewer. Holley recently took a formal step by sending a petition directly to California Governor Gavin Newsom, urging him to grant Lanez a pardon. “I humbly implore you to exercise your authority…to grant clemency, correcting a grave injustice and safeguarding a life,” Holley wrote, insisting that “Mr. Peterson’s conviction rests on unstable foundations.” Brewer has also made his stance public, using social media to highlight what he believes is an unjust situation, especially for Lanez’s son. “As an advocate for 2nd Chance Fathers, I can’t stay silent about Tory Lanez,” Brewer wrote on X. “This is another broken case that points to someone else, another father is lost to a system that rewards headlines over truth. Fatherlessness is destroying our nation.” Brewer didn’t stop there, calling on Governor Newsom to take action. “If Tory was an illegal alien there would be protests in the streets,” he added. “It’s not right. Governor Gavin Newsom, you have the power to right this wrong. This is bigger than one man, it’s about every child growing up without their dad, every family torn apart by injustice. I’m asking you to lead with courage, compassion, and fairness. Bring a father home.” Lanez won’t be eligible for parole until November 2029, but if denied, he could remain behind bars until 2033.

During a new interview with BBC’s Sidetracked podcast on Monday, July 21, the Motown legend revealed that he will keep performing as long as he can. “For as long as you breathe, for as long as your heart beats, there’s more for you to do,” Wonder told host Annie Mac. “I’m not gonna stop the gift that keeps pouring through my body.” He went on to explain that “an artist doesn’t stop drawing just because.” Instead, “you keep on. So as long as you can imagine, as long as you are going to be creative, and as long as you let your mind work, you don’t have to retire.”  The 25-time Grammy Award winner said he still gets excited about music just like he did when he released his first album at 12. “I love playing music, that’s like my mantra. I think I can do all the stuff I want to do – still have fun and do what I need to do – but I’m not going to stop the gift that keeps pouring through my body,” he said. “I love doing what I’m doing,” Wonder added. Ice Cube is the latest celebrity to offer to Malcolm-Jamal Warner after his tragic passing. While speaking with TMZ at LAX on Monday (July 21), the rap legend paid tribute to the Cosby Show star. “I look at him as an actor who brought a realness to television playing a great character, playing a great son on The Cosby Show,” Cube said. “He did a few great things outside of The Cosby Show. It’s tragic.” Along with Cube, many other celebrities showed their love for Waner who played the iconic character Theo Huxtable and was a Grammy winning musician. On her website,  Beyonce released a statement that read, “Rest in power, Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Thanks for being a big part of our shared television history. You will be missed.”  Bill Cosby, also told ABC News that Warner’s death remninding him of the passing of his son Ennis.  “He was always a great studier, and I enjoyed working with him very much,” Cosby said about Warner. Tracee Ellis Ross, who starred as Warner’s wife on BET’s Reed Between the Lines, took to Instagram to share photos with a heartfelt message. “I love you, Malcolm. First, I met you as Theo with the rest of the world, then you were my first TV husband. My heart is deeply saddened. What an actor and friend you were: warm, gentle, present, kind, thoughtful, deep, funny, elegant,” Ross wrote. “You made the world a brighter place. Sending so much love to your family. I’m so sorry for this unimaginable loss.”  Warner’s official cause of death was asphyxia after getting caught by a rip current Sunday afternoon near Cocles, a beach in Limon, Costa Rica. Warner is survived by his wife and young daughter.

Waka Flocka Flame was tossed out of Surf Lodge in Montauk following a heated altercation with staff members, Page Six reported. According to the report, Waka got around a crowd by going in a side entrance along with his 14 others in her entourage. A security guard attempted to stop them but they were unsuccessful. Then Waka allegedly began verbally abusing staff members of the establishment. “Waka berated the guard,” an eyewitness said. “He was saying, ‘Go f–k yourself, you’re a d–k.’ He said ‘f–k’ a thousand times.” Eventually, another security guard came over, and the two decided to let them in after some arguing. Despite the win for Waka, he allegedly didn’t let it go. A few moments later, he stormed back outside to confront them again, this time with one member of his group allegedly shouting a homophobic slur. “I’m worth $20 million. Do you know who I am?” Waka allegedly said. The staff finally lost their patience and kicked him out.  “The whole thing happened quickly, under three minutes,” the source continued. In a statement, Surf Lodge management expressed its disappointment in Waka’s behavior. “It’s simply not okay to treat staff with disrespect no matter who you are,” the statement read. “It would have been nice to have him join us for the festivities, but not at the cost of mistreating [our] teammates.” Before the alleged incident occurred, Waka performed at the nearby Bounce Beach Club, where his performance garnered good reviews.  “The show was great,” one concertgoer said. “He was bubbly and fun. He was taking selfies with people’s phones.”

His death has been officially ruled as asphyxia by drowning. Bill Cosby also shared his condolences following his TV son’s passing. A rep for Warner’s longtime Cosby, says that the actor received the phone call about Warner’s death in Costa Rica and that it reminded him of the death of his son, Ennis Cosby, in 1997. Ennis was shot and killed during a failed robbery attempt.  Wyatt also revealed that the last time Cosby spoke to Warner, he said that he was excited about a concert happening in Minneapolis and “felt like he was changing the world.” According to his rep, Cosby said that Malcolm-Jamal Warner “made a lasting impact with his life and career that will continue to change the world.”  Bill reported says,”every young man growing up in the projects back in the day wanted to be like Warner and to have a family like the Huxtables.”
