Over 4,000 attendees gathered last month in Newport News, VA, for the inaugural NOODLE Con: The Thinkers Convention. The free two-day experience brought together an impressive lineup of changemakers, including Chance The Rapper, Jermaine Dupri, Styles P, Daymond John, CeeLo Green, Terrence J, Aisha Bowe, James Fauntleroy, The D.O.C., and more.

Backed by Newport News Mayor Phillip Jones, one of the nation’s youngest Black mayors, the convention was intentionally designed to provide underserved communities, young entrepreneurs, HBCU students, and creatives with direct access to information, mentorship, and opportunity at no cost.
Held in the city’s emerging Yard District, attendees participated in conversations centered on business, technology, health, wellness, and innovation. A standout discussion featured Chance The Rapper, Shark Tank’s Daymond John, and Mayor Jones, moderated by Terrence J.

The convention also delivered unforgettable entertainment moments. Aloe Blacc kicked things off with an R&B Block Party, while CeeLo Green energized the crowd with a live performance. Jermaine Dupri transformed the Yard District into party with a one of a kind DJ set. Chance The Rapper’s appearance left many attendees saying it felt like a free concert woven into a powerful weekend of education and empowerment.
NOODLE Con inaugural success is a testament to their commitment to invest and connect community, culture and opportunity.
